At 11pm on Saturday 12th of December, The Purple Room will once again be back open for business. To celebrate this event Purple Room stalwarts External Sounds & MILK have joined forces to put on a very special night that will kick start a new beginning for this much love Drogheda venue.

Milk resident dj Steve Downes & the External Sounds Djs will be joined on the night by dance music historian and Dj, Bill Brewster. Originally hailing from Grimsby in the North of England, Bill Brewster's first passions were football and music. Already amassing a substantial record collection whilst he was writing for football magazine When Saturday Comes, he was then approached to write for Mixmag, eventually becoming the one of the editors at their New York branch. It was there that he met writing partner Frank Broughton, with whom he compiled the hugely successful How To DJ (Properly) and Last Night A DJ Saved My Life books.

Bill began DJing in in the late 80s, but he cut his teeth playing 'Low Life' warehouse parties in Harlem and the East Village he moved to NYC to run DMC's US operation and anyone hearing Bill today can see how these New York roots shine through. For eclecticism, surprises, amazing unique music and sheer long-haul dedication to the dancefloor, Bill's your man.

Brewster also runs the popular DJ History website, which apart from serving up interviews and features from some of the legends of dance music, acts as a hub for eclectic selectors worldwide through its forum. The popularity of the website, especially in London's disco-loving community, has contributed to the success of Brewster's Low Life parties in the city and beyond. Tickets for this event are available from UNIT1 clothes shop, Shop Street, Drogheda.Doors open at 11pm and entrance to The Purple Room is via the new door on the Fairgreen ONLY.
